pacif: -ic, -y, -erific.

i've swum in both the atlantic and pacific oceans several times within a week. not bad for a 10 day vacation from new haven... my tan is slightly more even, but i've caught my dad's cold. i'm still ahead, though, since the tan will last longer than the sore throat :) tomorrow i'm going to explore my mother's old stompin' grounds. they moved from buffalo when she was very young and she grew up on coronado. she was appalled that i'd never been there (coronado, not buffalo, though i never have been to buffalo). so i'm here with mom, gram, papa, and my cousins ross and amy. ross keeps using me as girl bait when we go to the beach. he says it gives guys more credibility when they're seen with a girl. he's fun to shop with, too, since he tells the truth about how clothes look and he doesn't mind traipsing through stores because he gets to check out the cute sales girls. pics to follow once i'm back somewhere with a decent internet connection... my grandparents have "dial-up." ever heard of it? ;-) my laptop is as restless from lack of use as i am from the jet-lag. but it's fun to get up and run before anyone else starts moving around. i ran this yesterday, past my elem. school from 5th and 6th grade, and past our old house when we lived here the second time. this morning mom and i walked to the beach, then along the pacif. coast hwy almost to oceanside, and to the grocery store before 8 am. only trouble is, we're wiped out by 8 pm. oh! almost forgot, one of my favorite things about gram's house is her outdoor shower. and now it has a shower curtain around it, so you can even really take a real shower at it now. i love the feel of getting squeeky clean without having to desert the comfort of the sun... mmmmm... hasta.
