just finished a book.

water for elephants. the title caught my eye for obvious reasons and for some unknown reason, i knew i'd like it. the librarian who checked it out to me told me i would too. that was around 12:30 this afternoon. i've never read a book like this all in one day, probably i'll regret it tomorrow when i realize it's over and i'll have to pick something else up... it was a marvelous book. "a world so real, one starts to breathe its air," the back cover states confidently. it's true. if you see it, read it.
i even turned my computer on to tell you this; that and, as i was leaning over to put the book on my dresser i heard the distinct sound of glass clinking and remembered tomorrow is trash and recycle day on my street. and ct has a 5 cent bottle return. something about poor people wandering the street with grocery carts and gaining a meal or a needed drink for their effort makes me want to write poetry. but it's too late for that tonight.
