10:20 per mile

time to beat for my next 5k -- 30:37. i was 1554th out of 2223 runners.

i couldn't have done it without kelsey at my side telling me we only had to go to the next intersection. LIAR!

she ran with me the whole way, even though she could have left me in the dust :) thanks girl!

and meg, well, in addition to being a rockstar, she's now a show-off. she finished the 20k - the first time she's EVER run the distance (12.4 miles) - in 2:07:24 and had a full tour of new haven, all before noon.

what fun. this is as addictive as horse shows, except that the night before a race, all you have to do is find your shoes, drink a bunch of water, and go to bed instead of bathing a horse, begging him not lay down in his poop, packing a car full of leather, and staying up til midnight polishing 32 combined inches of black boot that are only going to get dusty in the first 5 seconds of the next day.

next: MADD dash on november 11th. a 5-miler that starts in edgewood park, 1/2 mile from home :)
and maybe an interim 4-miler in branford, just over the quinnipiac, on oct 21...

Randler! This is Coach Ball. Life's hard. Suck it up and get that PR!

You can do it. Keep pushing yourself.

If you want, a group of us in Cola plan to run the Governor's Cup 8K.
