fotos!

at Teotihuan, with the Pyramid of the Moon, and #$%^& wal-mart (orange roof), in the background. nepal, taiwan, china, and colombia: well represented on the side of an aztec pyramid. John's (his real name is Chung-En, 2nd from left) spanish was getting pretty good by the time we left...
possibly my favorite pic of the trip. jp, from above (obviously) with some aztec thing he had been examining. he was an archeology major at chicago, and had the "kid in a candy store" look the whole time.
jenna and i. jenna was my roommate for the trip and now knows as much about my bodily functions as katie does, and for the same reason :) cheers for good friends old and new! (and keep me away from nopales asadas.) appropriately, this was taken at a dry/composting toilet ngo.
ali and i at the hotel. this was the first evening i was back up and around, so we took it easy for dinner with some cheese pizza at pizza hut :)

Cool Pics. I would like to see more.

BTW...Who is the flipping stupid @#!@## that approved a Wal-Mart next to this historical site?

A hotel I can understand. A respectable shopping center for visiting tourists. But a flipping Wal-Mart.

Uggg!

I dunno...it seems like organic development to me. We build what's important to our culture next to what was important to previous cultures, right? Something about continuity.

I can just see the tourists walking around the ancient Mexican "Gual-Mar" in a thousand years snapping pictures of the altars where we sacrificed to the gods of capitalism.

Okay...I meant that to be funny, but now it's kinda depressing.

Seriously, glad you had a good trip! :-)
