Ahh..now, without saying to much for your other readers, I am sure you now understand when I said that there is a sound at the end of the movie that will stay with you for years. (Hint it involves a brick).
Oh, and now you have to see Dead Alive, another P. Jackson movie, and fyi, the only movie that has made me jump out of my seat and run to the bathroom wreching- twice.
How's that for a selling point. It really is funny.
wait - it made you wretch because it's graphic? or because you were laughing so hard? also, which one of them is an author again? i'm assuming it's juliet, but you told me once...
Juliet Hulme was revealed to be mystery writer Anne Perry in 1994 during the making of the film but all attempts to find Parker failed. In 1997 she was traced to a rundown cottage on a farm near Strood, Kent, England, where she runs a children's riding school. Since assuming the name Hilary Nathan the spinster has become a devout Catholic and devoted her life to handicapped children.
Also of interest: All of the journal voice-overs are direct from real diary entries made by Pauline Parker. The characters in the stories (if not the stories themselves) and make-believe world are also authentic.
And in regards to Dead Alive, it is funny, but I was wreching because it is so damn gross at times. There's a scene where someone's sore bursts and shoots pus into someone else's pudding, and then-OK, I digress. But it is a funny movie once you adjust to how ridiculously graphically intentionally gross it is.
Yeah, brilliant director Peter Jackson got his start making terribly gross and raunchy movies about alien invaders, zombies, and sex-crazed puppets. As low-brow as they might have been, all of these movies are still very well reviewed.
